General Policy Statement
In the content of its business throughout the world ClearView Communications Ltd commits itself to the protection of the environment and to the health and safety of its employees. Sustainability is a business issue. In energy use, waste disposal and management or procurement, actions taken today will influence the ability of business to prosper or even survive tomorrow.
ClearView wishes to adopt and operate policies on the Environment & sustainability to deliver tangible benefits.
Objectives
- To require all ClearView operations to devise & implement suitable health, safety and environmental practices which comply with overall company policy.
- To ensure that in its operations, the health and safety of all its employees, persons visiting site, customers and the public at large, is properly safeguarded at all times and all legal requirements are met.
- To minimise the environmental impact of ClearView operations in areas such as pollutions of the aqueous environment, omissions to the atmosphere and noise, to encourage the conservation of resources and to ensure all legal requirements are met.
- To ensure that all waste produced by the ClearView is disposed of in line with environmental legislation, and using an accredited contractor who will endeavour to recycle where possible, and reduce the need for landfill. Such contractor will be required to supply a report to monitor the recycling of our waste. Permission will be obtained from our environmental regulator should we ever have a need to discharge anything other than clean uncontaminated water into surface water or ground water
- To ensure that all ClearView operations have identified and evaluated the risks associated with their business by instituting a continuing programme of health, safety and environmental risk assessments.
- As appropriate, make available to employees, customers, the public and statutory authorities, company information relevant to health & safety and the environment.
- To participate with the appropriate authorities, trade and industry associations, and other relevant bodies in the development of new legislation and standards.
- To achieve full compliance with all national standards in any country in which the company operates.

- To ensure that when new products, new processes and acquisitions are being considered the health, safety and environmental implications are taken into account at the initial stage.
- To seek to ensure that all company products can be manufactured, used, handled, stored and distributed in a manner which safeguards the environment and the health and safety of employees, customers and the public at large.
- To seek to ensure that products supplied by third parties can be manufactured, used, handled, stored and distributed in a manner which safeguards the environment and the health and safety of employees, customers and the public at large.
- To require that all contractors working on company sites, or under the operational control of the company comply with this policy.
- To establish means by which employees can make a positive contribution to the achievement of high standards of health & safety and environmental matters.
- To review the application of the policy in the light of new knowledge, changing legislation and current public concerns.
- To be innovative in product development and work with our customers to mitigate the impact that the company has on their carbon footprint. The company has already implemented re-usable packaging on its own manufactured products – such as Interview and de –multiplexing equipment to achieve this.
- To operate an environmental management system to help us to improve our environmental performance, which would include the carrying out of periodic audits of compliance and where appropriate implementing remedial measures.
The Company is committed to improving its performance in this respect and has initiated a number of projects that will affect:
- Energy – an audit of energy use and proposals for improvement
- Waste – seeking ways to reduce the amount of waste produced.
- Procurement – new policies and guidelines to introduce ‘green’ criteria.
