Prison Cell CCTV Cameras
Closed circuit (CCTV) technology is increasingly being utilised as a tool for recording and monitoring police and prison cells to provide an enhanced level of care, whilst allowing transparency of police treatment of prisoners.
ClearView have developed a range of cameras specifically for installation in police and prison cells. These provide options for colour/mono, infra-red illumination and two-way intercom.
ClearView Communications have provided ligature-free cameras for many police forces requiring coverage of vulnerable cells and or cells within a single custody suite.
The cameras are provided in specially designed “cell” housing and are available as colour/mono 580 TVL or colour 520 TVL options. Both types have a wide-angle 2.6mm auto iris lens. An infra red option is available which is capable of producing video pictures in zero light. This leaves the cell in complete darkness at night as far as the prisoner is concerned, but provides bright illumination for clear camera pictures. The cameras provide a complete view of the cell which includes the area directly under the camera itself.
The cameras are designed with no sharp protruding objects or ligature points and provide the highest level of vandal resistance.
Optional Mask
To protect the privacy of prisoners, an optional video mask facility is available to cover the wc area. The area of mask may be set according to the size and position necessary for it's purpose.
Optional Audio
Optional high sensitivity microphones may be built into the camera housing. These do not require batteries or separate mains supplies. They will pick up all sound within the cell.
Facility is also available to allow the custody sergeant to communicate with each cell via a telephone handset or computer at the charge desk. A two - way conference can therefore be held between the desk and cell.
