A wide variety of methods are available to wirelessly transmit video, audio and data signals. Previously, only analog methods were available for transmission. These were prone intermittent transmission with signal loss in rain or fog. Now, with the development of systems using mobile phone and IT technology – digital methods are available which are far more reliable. Systems are now available which offer what IT professionals call “five nines” reliabillity—meaning that the wireless connection is 99.999% reliable (i.e. available 99.999% of the time).
